The Historic 7th March observed in Bangkok

The Historic 7 March was observed by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Bangkok on Monday, 7 March 2022. The national flag was hoisted at the Chancery premises by Mohammed Abdul Hye, Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand.

A discussion seminar was organized at the Embassy premises in presence of Ambassador Mohammed Abdul Hye. The special messages of the Hon’ble President and Hon’ble Prime Minister were read out by Minister (Consular) Mr.  Ahmed Tareque Sumeen and Minister (Economic) Mr. Syed Rashedul Hossen respectively. Then the video of the Historic 7th March Speech was screened.

At the outset of the discussion, the two Ministers of the Mission presented different significant aspects of the historic speech. Both the discussants mentioned that the impromptu speech over 18 minutes included instructions to all including the government officials, armed forces, media but not the direct utterance of independence. Ambassador Mohammed Abdul Hye in his remarks highlighted the significance of the Historic 7 March speech in the context of diplomatic excellence. He also discussed about the impact of the speech on the struggle of the independence of Bangladesh. He pointed out Bangabandhu’s democratic ideals reflected in the historic speech. After the discussion the Embassy officials joined online the national event on the Historic 7th March held in Dhaka where the Hon’ble Prime Minister was the Chief Guest.
