H.E. Ambassador meets Ital-thai President

H.E. Ambassador Mr. Mohammed Abdul Hye held a courtesy meeting with Ital-thai (ITD) President Mr. Premchai Karnasuta on 25 June 2021 at the Ital-thai tower in Bangkok. In the meeting Ital-thai President briefed the Ambassador on the progress of the on-going projects namely the metro rail and First Dhaka Elevated Expressway in Bangladesh. However, Ital-thai President informed that due to the pandemic and COVID outbreak among the project workers the implementation is getting delayed. Ital-thai President sought kind intervention of Bangladesh Ambassador in vaccinating the project workers on priority basis considering their vulnerability.

Ambassador Abdul Hye assured that safety of the workers is always a priority and Embassy would extend necessary support in this regard. Ambassador Abdul Hye touched upon the Vision-2021 and Vision-2041 of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the recent socio-economic achievements of Bangladesh. He thanked Ital-thai President for being part of the historic development journey of Bangladesh and hoped that it will continue provided the regional experience and engineering know-how of the company. ITD President also expressed their continued interest in Bangladesh.

ITD is the leading development company of Thailand founded in 1955 having enormous experience in implementing large scale projects in South east Asia. Currently they are engaged in buliding 47 km the first Dhaka elevated expressway from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Dhaka-Chattogram highway and the much awaited mass rapid transit (metro rail) project in Bangladesh.
