Registration with the Embassy
For convenience and better consular services, all Bangladesh nationals living in Thailand are requested to register themselves at the Embassy by filling up and sending a copy of the under mentioned form. A copy of the form may be retained by individuals. To effect any change of personal information, a new form should be sent to replace the old one.
Passport Issuance and Renewal
Non-resident Bangladesh nationals living in Thailand will be provided with passport related services as follows:
Application for new passport, passport renewal or endorsement is to be made on the Passport Application Form. This form can be collected from Consular Office of this embassy or downloaded from the link below.
New Passport
A new passport may be applied for:- Against an old one on expiry of validity, to replace a damaged one or against a passport not left with sufficient number of blank pages;
- For a child of Bangladeshi parents, born in Thailand;
- For making any amendment (change of name, date of birth, profession, present address etc);
- Against a lost passport, provided the lost one was issued or renewed at this embassy. New passport against a lost one, which was not issued or renewed from this embassy, may be issued only after obtaining necessary clearance of the previous issuing authority and a police verification report from Bangladesh.
Submission of Application
Following documents/items are to be submitted when applying for a new passport:
- Filled up Passport Application Form with signature;
- 4 recently taken color photographs of size 40mm x 50mm;
- Old passport;
- For amendment of name, date of birth, profession, present address etc., original certificate/affidavit will have to shown and photocopy to be submitted. All such document shown and submitted must be attested by a designated consular officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. Without attestation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, document of certification (given from any office/person in Bangladesh) will not be accepte.
Passport application for new born baby
Following documents/items are to be submitted when applying for a new passport:
- Birth certificate from the hospital;
- Photocopies of parents’ passports;
- 2 recently taken color photograph of parents (one each) of size 40mm x 50mm.
In case applying against a lost passport, following documents are to be submitted:
- Police report from local Police Station on loss of passport (translated into English);
- Photocopy of the passport including the visa page. If a photocopy of the passport is not available, details of the valid visa of Thailand (endorsed on the lost passport) to be provided;
- Photocopy of the work permit or any other document in support of applicant’s stay-status in Thailand.
The old passport will be cancelled on issuance of a new one. If the old passport (to be cancelled) has valid visa(s) of any country(s), the applicant will have to make his own arrangement for transfer/re-endorsement of the visa(s) form the embassy concerned. For transfer/re-endorsement of Thai visa, the applicant may ask for a letter of recommendation from the Consular Wing of this Embassy addressed to the Immigration Bureau of Thailand.
Renewal of Passport
Non-resident Bangladesh nationals living in Thailand may apply for renewal of passport for extending period of its validity. A passport will not be renewed for a period beyond 10 years from its date of issuance. Application for renewal will not be accepted during a short visit unless an extreme emergency is justified and supported with valid documents.
Submission of Application
Following documents/items are to be submitted while applying for renewal of passport:
- filled up Passport Application Form with signature;
- 1 recently taken color photograph of size 40mm x 50mm.
Special Endorsement in the Passport
Non-resident Bangladesh nationals living in Thailand may apply for following endorsements in the passport:
- Include newborn children;
- Exclude children attaining 12 years of age, with application(s) for new passport for him/her/them (compulsory);
- Amendment of Name, Date of Birth, Profession etc;
- Parents (Bangladesh national) on a short visit to Thailand (for treatment or as tourists) must apply for inclusion of their child, born in Thailand, in one of their passports.
Submission of Application
Following documents/items are to be submitted while applying for an endorsement:
- Filled up Passport Application Form with signature;
- 1 recently taken color photograph of size 40mm x 50mm;

For amendment of name, date of birth, profession, present address etc., original certificate/affidavit will have to shown and photocopy to be submitted. All such document shown and submitted must be attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dhaka. Without attestation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, document of certification (given from any office/person in Bangladesh) will not be accepted.
To include a newborn baby
- Birth Certificate from the hospital (of Thailand);
- 3 recently taken color photographs of the baby of size 30mm x 30mm;
- photocopies of parents’ passports;
- 2 recently taken color photographs of parents (one each) of size 40mm x 50mm.
Travel Permit
In the event of loss of a passport in Thailand, a Bangladesh national may apply for a Travel Permit only to return to a destination in Bangladesh directly by air.
Submission of Application
Following documents/items are to be submitted when applying for a new passport:
- Police report from local Police Station on loss of passport (translated into English);
- 2 recently taken color photographs of size 40mm x 50mm;
- Photocopy of the passport including the visa and immigration’s endorsement pages. If a photocopy of the passport is not available in that case photocopy of National ID Card, Voter ID card or Driving License or any other document as proof of Bangladesh nationality will have to be provided;
- photocopy of return air ticket.
Attestation of Certificate/Document
Documents/certificates obtained from Bangladesh must first be attested by the designated consular officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh before submitting to this embassy for attestation. Consular Section of this embassy attests only the seal and signature of the officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not the content of the document/certificate. This embassy will not attest any document unless it was attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
An applicant requiring attestation of documents or certificates obtained from Thailand will have to first get those attested by a designated officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
An applicant requiring attestation of a document or certificate obtained from a foreign country will have to first get that attested from the embassy/consular office of that country.
Certificate of personal event (educational qualification, marital status, good conduct, relationship, marriage, divorce, professional experience, etc.) cannot be initiated from this embassy. These certificates are to be collected from the office/person concerned in Bangladesh.
